Chapter 5
Elizabeth smiled warmly, the lingering tension in her neck finally releasing as she tucked Zara’s validated boarding pass back into the young girl's hand with deep professional gratitude.
“Your father taught you well, Miss Coleman,” Elizabeth said softly. “You stood your ground without raising your voice, which is a rare and admirable quality at any age in this industry.”
“He taught me that rules exist to protect everyone equally,” Zara replied, offering Elizabeth a gentle, heartfelt smile. “If they only applied to some people, society wouldn’t work very well.”
Marcus looked down at his daughter with unmistakable pride, knowing that the values he had worked so hard to instill within her had withstood their first genuine test in the wider world.
“Are you still comfortable flying to London tonight, Z?” Marcus asked, checking his watch while the ground crew finalized the revised passenger manifest on the forward galley computer terminal.
“Of course, Dad,” Zara said without hesitation. “Aunt Clara is waiting for me at Heathrow, and I have a robotics seminar at Imperial College tomorrow morning that I refuse to miss.”
Marcus smiled, pulling his daughter into a warm, protective embrace before stepping back toward the jet bridge where the gate agent waited patiently to seal the aircraft door for departure.
“Call me the moment you land,” Marcus said, his voice returning to that of an ordinary, loving father. “And remember to enjoy the window view as you cross the Atlantic tonight.”
“I will, Dad. I promise,” Zara replied, waving goodbye as her father stepped across the threshold, leaving the aircraft in the capable hands of its dedicated and newly unified crew.
The heavy cabin door swung shut with a reassuring mechanical thud, followed by the familiar electronic chime signaling that the boarding bridge had detached from the fuselage of the aircraft.
Elizabeth turned to Zara and made an inviting sweeping gesture toward Row 2. “Miss Coleman, your assigned suite at Seat 2A is officially prepared and waiting for your arrival.”
Zara walked down the short aisle, greeted by approving nods and warm smiles from the surrounding passengers who had witnessed the entire ordeal unfold from its very beginning thirty minutes earlier.

The gentleman sitting across the aisle in 2D offered her a respectful nod. “Well done, young lady. You handled that arrogant man with far more patience than most adults could ever manage.”
“Thank you, sir,” Zara replied politely before stepping into her private pod, sliding her burgundy bag into the designated footwell and sitting down against the plush leather headrest of Seat 2A.
